Westminster Kennel Club's Best in Show
From 202 eligible breeds (A total of 2,798 dogs) entered and competed in 2017, which recognizes achievement in exceptional breeds. Hailing from Edgerton, Wis., Pamela McElheney and Kent Boyles entered Rumor, a five-and-a-half year old female German Shepherd. The German shepherd won Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, one year after falling short to a German shorthaired pointer mamed CJ in the same competition.
Rumor showed a large yet lean and muscular shape, a rusty coat with large sections of deep black, along with nimble and graceful movements. The capacity crowd here sounded every time Rumor was shown on the Jumbotron, or every time she simply strolled around the floor.
Thomas H. Bradley III served as the acting judge and chose the winner from the field of seven contestants from the various dog groups. Bradley selected Adrian the Irish setter as the Reserve Best in Show. Read more >
